Melania, By The Numbers
A moving portrait of a very still lady.
Blockbuster movie season is here! As we all know, Hollywood tends to drop its biggest and best projects during the dead of winter—just think of recent awards-worthy January releases like Mortdecai and Texas Chainsaw 3D.
The latest member of this illustrious club is last weekend’s documentary Melania from Amazon MGM Studios, which racked up a boffo $7 million in ticket sales on an even more boffo $75 million budget. In addition to being a transparent example of money laundering, the film marks a return to the big screen for notorious sex pest and acclaimed producer of Horrible Bosses 2, Brett Ratner.
According to Amazon, Melania “offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration — through the eyes of the First Lady herself.” According to reviewers, it’s “shallow, putrid, pitiful garbage.”
Rather than get caught up in the film’s controversial politics, I decided to review it objectively: by the numbers.

One Trillion

$75,000,000

More thanks!
I have not one, not two, but THREE new paid subscribers to thank today: Eileen K., William S., and Julia L. Incredible stuff, guys. I really appreciate your support of original comedy.
As a bonus, three new subs at once really helps me peer-pressure everyone else who hasn’t yet joined the cool kids club. YOU’RE OBVIOUSLY MISSING OUT, GUYS!!!

Donald Trump's Greenland, by the numbers
Donald Trump has stumbled onto another profoundly impossible foreign policy idea. Unfortunately for Big Don, Greenland is not up for sale. It’s currently an autonomous territory overseen by Denmark, but the local government has aims at independence. Meanwhile, the Danish Prime Minister called the idea of selling Greenland “absurd.” Nevertheless, this seems like one of those ideas that Trump won’t ever let go of, so it now falls to us for serious analysis.
MLB Spring Training, By The Numbers
After months of box score deprivation, baseball fans can finally breathe easy again. Spring training is here and our favorite sport resumes its familiar rhythms and routines: the crack of the bat, the roar of the crowd, the Dippin’ of the Dots. As players dust off their cleats and teams roll out comically unappealing hats, let’s examine the numbers that define this annual MLB ritual.

One of your best for sure. May I humbly suggest one additional number?
