It’s Travels with Natalie, premiering on National Geographic this fall.
Armed with NatGeo’s trademark cultural curiosity, Travels with Natalie follows the world’s most infamous executive assistant as she trots across the globe. Known for her constant proximity to the president as well as her practice of printing out social media posts for him to view, in this series we get to know the real Natalie Harp as she travels from Washington to Turkey to a secret airport shipping container and back.
Each episode embeds with Harp as she navigates the unscripted realities of her particular joie de vivre: the majestic view from inside a motorcade trunk, the thrilling sprint required to keep pace with the president’s golf cart, and the quiet discipline of allowing him to fall asleep in front of foreign dignitaries. Viewers will be astounded to watch Harp demonstrate how she communicates with an otherwise incoherent leader through a self-developed system of grunts, hand gestures, and unbelievably sycophantic correspondence.
At home and abroad, Harp's travels bring her face to face with some of the world’s most exotic subcultures: the president’s golf buddies, the lamestream media, and whatever Laura Loomer is. Along the way, Harp reflects on the path that brought her here, from a random 2019 television appearance to her current role as an aide that Donald Trump would sacrifice multiple cabinet secretaries for.
“Sometimes people ask me if I get tired of traveling,” said Harp. “But now they’ll be able to see for themselves what I always tell them: home is where the president is standing.”
Early reactions have been overwhelming. The New York Times has already called the series “bewildering.” Others have gone further, with one review calling it “insightful (but not in a good way),” and another noting it's “almost as good as Melania.”
Travels with Natalie airs every Tuesday on National Geographic. It will also be available to stream on Disney+, and printed out frame-by-frame in the White House.
