Recapping the Latest Episode of “Reality”
Season 2025 nears a depressing conclusion.

Well… that happened. And by “that,” I mean this week’s episode of Reality—the long-running series of collective experiences shared by everyone on the planet. The only thing this recapper can say is the showrunners really outdid themselves this time!
Where to start? In some ways, this was the most shocking week of Reality in recent memory. No spoilers, but let’s just say that it featured more horrific twists than an episode of The Walking Dead starring Chubby Checker. While much of it was frankly difficult to watch, you have to give the creator (or “Creator” in this case) credit: Reality can still surprise. Who knew you could by feel devastated the loss of characters you were barely aware of?
And boy, this week of Reality hammered themes of “senseless violence” again and again! The show seems to have forgotten that we can only process so many active shooter situations and gruesome murders before we want to tune out.
For anyone just joining Reality, know that it has been on a steady downward trajectory since at least Season 2020, when the writers introduced a global pandemic subplot that made critics (and fans) lose their minds.1 Now, some are speculating that Reality would benefit from a hiatus or even a full reboot—maybe with a new universe that’s focused on a fun side character, like Timothée Chalamet.
Online chatter has also criticized the increasingly madcap pace of plot developments, given that high-level controversy used to be introduced once or twice per decade at most. At this point, it’s fair to wonder if Reality will even resolve its many long-running conflicts in a way that doesn’t destroy the series completely.
Some fans on Reddit (and various religious leaders) are still convinced this is all building toward something bigger. But honestly? It currently feels more like atoms randomly colliding into each other just to see what sticks. And would it kill the producers to get creative and throw in a musical episode every once in a while?
Here’s my prediction: anyone hoping for a return to Reality’s classic formulas like “logical consistency” or “actions ➡️ consequences” will be sorely disappointed. At this point, I’m not even sure the powers that be remember what a normal week looks like.
That’s all for this week. See you next time, whether you like it or not!

Out of Office: Break From Existence
Hi, This is an automated response. I’m currently out of the office taking a scheduled break from existence. I am not currently receiving messages, push notifications, or sensory input of any kind.
BREAKING: Something Worse Is Happening Tomorrow
We interrupt our ongoing coverage of today’s emergency with late-breaking news from the field: something worse is going to happen tomorrow.
In a literal sense.

I think Reality should go ahead and move to YouTube this coming season. It might be more at home on a platform that is absolutely random and is reportedly going to host such fly by night operations as the Oscars. Also it might allow for more musical numbers. Bonus: I never watch it, so I could live a less stressful life.
We are Timothée Chalamet's fun side characters ; )
