it also feels like you’re in a weird theatre kid group with other americans who watch. like you don’t even abide by the popular kids rules, because you have your own set of rules (that are meaningless).
Here to second WILTY. And maybe even skip the first three seasons. Victoria Coren Mitchell who was on TM several series ago is the wife of David Mitchell from WILTY and they are my favorite celebrity couple. British comedy forever!!
It is absolutely my favourite show, but I don't think I've managed to turn anyone onto it either! You're right that it's hard to explain how funny it is watching Mike Wozniak spend a whole episode trying to fart.
I just watched a season of Taskmaster about a month ago. It’s so great! I also found myself telling Eliot things like, “See, the challenge was to Do Something Cool, and they had 20 minutes to do whatever they wanted. But THEN they found out the *actual* challenge was that they had 20 more minutes to do their cool thing *backwards*, and then that footage would be *reversed,* and the winner would be the person whose reversed backward cool thing most closely matched their original forward cool thing. Anyway… it was really funny.”
