This Fucking Sucks
Let's commiserate.
No comedy from me today. This fucking sucks.
I’m of course referring to the American government’s murder of Alex Pretti, just weeks after it similarly murdered Renee Good.1 There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said elsewhere, and no joke I can make that will fully reflect how sickened I feel to share a country (and a species) with the people committing these atrocities.
I’m guessing many of you feel similarly. But I also think it’s unhealthy for us to live with all these horrible feelings bottled up inside. So consider this post your place to vent. If you need somewhere to let it all out, just leave a comment, share your feelings… or simply say this fucking sucks.

I previously shared the brilliant work of Jesse Welles, and he recently performed his song “Join ICE” on Stephen Colbert’s show. Love the backdrop.
If that isn’t outright angry-sounding enough for you, check out “Citizen I.C.E.” by the Dropkick Murphys. “Too scared to join the military, too dumb to be a cop” pretty much sums it up. I hope someone in Minneapolis is currently blaring this loudly from very public speakers.
Finally, the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song “Ohio” has been on my mind for months as I.C.E. operations have escalated. Yesterday, I saw this acoustic version by Dave Matthews that’s pretty striking, even before he brings Rage Against the Machine into the mix.
(If America makes it to a Post-Trump era, we need to collectively re-evaluate our opinion of Dave Matthews. This dude is a real one.)
