LOL, I can't count the number of people snapping photos and taking videos at last night's Canada Day fireworks near me. What a different experience it is when you just sit back and enjoy something.
I applaud you fireworks for being so humble in this day and age of "EVERYTHING" being caught on camera and shared on endless Facebook feeds, Instagrams, or the worst, when you are stuck with an overexcited friend who believes they somehow have "caught your brilliance" in 44 photos with explanations behind each of them. I've experienced you in the Southern Hemisphere and the Northern and in many time zones...in pics...you pretty much look the same. Thank you for reminding us to put our phones down and enjoy you in the moment as we should...not through a lens but with our eyes! Happy 4th! Can't wait to see you again...although you do scare the crap out of my dog.

Personally, I don't want to celebrate anything that is channeling "bombs bursting in air." In stead I take pictures of the Northern Lights.
The great thing about photographing the northern lights is that they’re pre-blurred.
Everything you say about pictures of fireworks applies to pretty much EVERY picture anyone (including me) has ever taken with their phone.
Except, of course, for photos of my grandchildren.
