“Be afraid. Be very afraid.” “It’s alive!” “In space, no one can hear you scream.”

Great horror movie taglines haunt you forever—and not just because they help ensure an endless series of remakes. But for every iconic slogan that pops up during October, there are dozens that get buried.

“Disembowelment has a new name.”
Evisceration (1983)

“Give them an inch, they’ll take a graveyard.”
Coffin Worms 2: Let’s Boogie Down (1978)

“It began as a nagging problem, but now it’s more. Slightly more.”
Minor Inconvenience (2014)

I'm a lifelong resident of the L.A. area, and wrote regularly for MAD magazine for over 20 years. I also have sitcom screenwriting credits, but that's for public access. You wouldn't have much interest in that, would you?
